VOLTA Black
VOLTA Black is the standard-finish electric hookah heating device from ShishaX. It replaces your bowl and coals: tobacco goes in VOLTA's own ceramic chamber, and the device attaches to your hookah stem where the bowl would go. Two independent electric zones do the heating: a top heater above the tobacco for clouds, and a side heater built into the ceramic chamber walls for flavor and bowl life. A swappable lithium-ion battery runs 60 to 90 minutes per charge and recharges over USB-C in about 1 to 1.5 hours. Pass-through charging or a battery swap stretches a session to around 120 minutes. Preheat takes roughly 8 minutes. Set heat on the OLED or in the ShishaX app over Bluetooth. Fits most standard hookah stems and bases.

How much tobacco should I use with VOLTA?
For optimal performance, we recommend using approximately 10 grams of tobacco per session.
How long does preheat take?
VOLTA takes about 8 minutes to fully preheat.
How long does the battery last?
On a full charge, VOLTA provides 60 to 90 minutes of active session time, depending on the selected heat level. Lower heat settings use less power.
How long does a typical session last?
A typical session lasts 60 to 120 minutes. Past 60 to 90 minutes, plug in for pass-through charging or swap in a charged spare battery.
Can I use VOLTA while it’s charging?
Yes. VOLTA supports USB-C pass-through charging, so you can keep your session going while plugged in. At higher heat the battery can still drop slowly, so for the longest sessions a charged spare is the surest option.
Do I need the app to use VOLTA?
No, VOLTA works fully on its own. The ShishaX app is optional and provides remote monitoring, preheat control, and custom preset management.
Does the ShishaX app work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. On Android, install ShishaX from Google Play. On iPhone and iPad, install SHX Browser from the App Store and open the ShishaX web app inside it. Both connect via Bluetooth or WiFi.
Will VOLTA fit my hookah?
VOLTA attaches to most standard hookah stems and bases. It brings its own ceramic chamber, so you don't need a separate bowl.
What’s the difference between VOLTA Black and the 24K Gold version?
Performance is identical.
The difference is purely the finish - VOLTA Black features a clean matte black exterior, while the 24K Gold Edition offers a bold luxury finish.
